Ginger and John Welcome You to Ginger's Cameo, Manufacturing Home Office of Cameo Paints

Newsletter
August 2007

HELLO ALL YOU WONDERFUL PEOPLE!

We have had a rough time in the last few weeks. Our daughter, Mysti, and our grandchildren Meg, Ember and Kai, have lost their husband and father to a very short battle with a very rare and aggressive cancer.

The address for cards is: The Plummers, 707 N. Prospect, Ypsilanti, MI 48197

Dave & Meg Dave, Ember, Kai & Mysti

Mysti is our youngest daughter and she is the one so many of you have met at the workshops here. She and my husband, John, are the Color Technicians. They try to give you the colors that you want. They come up with the formulas for the paints.

I want to thank all of you that have had orders or questions in and waited for what probably seemed like forever for me to get back to you. We spend a lot of time with Mysti and the kids just being there for them during this tough time.

Okay now for the rest of the newsletter. Luckily a lot of this was already written when the above started.

Since I want the folks who cannot come to the October Seminar to be able to order the new things that are coming out then I will be getting the November/December newsletter out the week following the Seminar.

I have two (2) of the three (3) new accessories in house that will be kicked off at the October Seminar. Accessories are things that help you to paint like tips, Fiber Brushes, Mini Totes, all those C numbers. Halleen will be teaching a class with some of these at the Seminar.

I actually have the new Linen in house for the October Seminar. My cousin, Jean, will be teaching that class, first thing in the morning on October 13th, right after the continental breakfast.

I keep a list of what paints are used in what designs. Since we have so many transfers, and Im still bringing in old ones, I cant put this list out real often. This is several pages long, but it will help make sure that you have all the paints that you need for a certain design. I left room for you to add transfers in as they come out and put in the colors used so you can keep it up-to-date until I put out another one. Were going to try to figure out how to combine this list and the Index so that it is all together. Feel free to copy this list for your customers.

Once I get all the transfers that were originally in the black and white catalog that I put out when I first took over the Company -into the colored catalog pages -I will be putting all the transfers in numeric order. That will entail changing all the transfer pages around. At this point I still have less than a dozen transfers that are still in black and white. We will try to get them in by the end of the year in color. The transfers that are in black and white are the ones that keep their old numbers. The transfers that I bring back in the Line that were in before at some point are being brought in under new numbers. I do try to let you know what the old numbers were when I do that. Im trying to get a list up-dated to show each transfer with all their old numbers but that is still a work in progress and still has a ways to go.

Get the October Seminar 2007 on your Calenders NOW!

October 13, 2007

Where: At the Ginger's Cameo facility in Manchester, MI

I'm putting the registration form for the October Seminar in this newsletter. The sooner you get it in - the better I am able to plan. If you get your paid registration in before October 1st, you get a $5.00 discount - so it will only cost you $30.00. If you register on line - you will get a $5.00 credit at the meeting to use for all the things that you are going to want to buy.

This will give us three major up-coming holidays to work with at the Workshop.

All the new things coming out for the October Seminar will be in the November/December newsletter. Those of you who attend the Seminar will be the first to see and get the new things.

I have one of the new things in House already. Another new thing is on order and should be here within the next couple of weeks.

We will try to have a new type of linen to paint on.

I, also, have some other things in the works for the Fall Seminar in October.

In looking at the many things that will be happening at the Seminar and things that will be kicked off at the Seminar, I think that you should all make every attempt to be here. Oh, yes, we will be meeting in the new Facility for the first time, also!!!!

It's going to be great! I hope to see you there. You should be able to register ($35.00) on the Web site. We will be doing a lot of new things and this will cover a lot of the supplies that you will need - but not all. You will probably have to buy a few added things, too.

Monthly Special

Monthly special for August 2007:

This will be the Special for the month of August 2007.

Last year when I was having the Unicorn Quilt Blocks printed the printer made a double batch of two of the designs. I think that I will take those designs, which were UQ08 and UQ10 and put them together with a throw pillow covers (P1482) for this months special.

This set would retail for $15.20.

The monthly special for August 2007 will sell for $14.95.

You will get (2) transfers UQ08 and UQ10, Along with(2) throw pillow covers P1482

Now for only $14.95

These would be a great start (or continuation) of your holiday gifts. They would, also, sell well at up-coming craft shows.

Monthly Quilt Clubs

On the transfers for the monthly quilt blocks there is a big picture and a little picture. Obviously the big picture is for the actual quilt block. The smaller pictures can be used for matching little t-shirts or sweat shirts. They can be used for making matching pillows, curtains, dust ruffles, sheets, body pillow covers or maybe even matching towels and wash cloths for a connecting bath room.

Remind your customers that they don't have to make quilts with these transfers. They can use them on shirts and other things. They would make a cute outfit (according to which ones you used) for a little onesy for a baby or a matching sweat suit for a child or adult. How about making a western shirt for someone in your life using the Southwest quilt block transfers? How about putting a south west transfer on your horse blanket?

If any of you travel - these transfers are a good size to go on your luggage. For some luggage, you might have to put the transfer on the quilt block - then put Fabric Glue on the back - let it dry - then cut it out to put on your suitcase. (You might need to cut in multiple pieces to get the look that you want.) After you get it cut out - use the Fabric Glue to put it on the luggage. If you want it to last a long time - after that Fabric Glue is totally dry - put another coat of the Fabric Glue over the top of the whole design. This will, hopefully, keep it safer and make it last longer. When you do something like this it will make it much easier to spot your luggage on the luggage carousel at the airport. It might, also, get you some new customers. There's nothing like advertising to get people to notice what you sell.

Remember this hint: if you need to put on multiple coats of paint, you can always iron your design dry in between coats so you can finish up a design in one class.

Also, when you use your Dual Point Pens, the paint that you use them on must be dry or you will clog up your nib and it wont work anymore. If you are doing faces, for instance, paint the entire face and put any shading on that you need to do then iron the piece dry then go back and detail with your C388 Brown Dual Point Pen.

What Our Friends Are Doing

Show us some of Your Work

Have you wanted a patriotic table cloth for all the patriotic holidays?

Well, here is Lori's tablecloth. She used four (4) different main transfers and then pulled the whole thing together with the stars that Halleen taught. Lori says she can use it pretty much all summer.

We would love to show our readers what you've done with Cameo Paints. Send us [email protected] or [email protected] some of your pictures and be sure to tell us about them and yourself.

Final Words

I’ve been trying to hold down the price on shipping – but now I’m starting to lose money on it and prices are going up at the Post Office starting May 14th. (Prices at other shipping places have already gone up.) The increases they are talking about, on top of what I was already losing, means that starting May 1st, 2007 my shipping prices are going to go up.

Remember that shipping is figured on your retail total before your discount.

If you think I should give you a lower shipping amount on your order because it is a small order, you can call and we might be able to adjust it some. No promises though. I’m not in the business of making money on shipping, but sometimes the small orders are what off-set the big orders.

Well, I guess that's all for this month. Keep that those suggestions coming. I need every one of them. See you at a meeting.
