HELLO ALL YOU WONDERFUL PEOPLE!
Well, most of the baby birds are out of the nests now. The cats have calmed down somewhat as far as attacking the windows to try to get to the birds that are sitting on the window sills.
Here in Michigan we've been having a few days of 70 degree weather - then it goes up into the 100's for a couple of days - then back into the 80's - then all the way down to the 70's again. At night it ranges from the 50's to the 70's. I really can handle the up-and-down temperatures better than just really, really hot. The rain comes in periodically and keeps everything green. (John says he can hear the lawn growing on these days.)
I would complain about the weather a little, but so many of you are getting really atrocious weather - I just can't feel that I can complain too much.
All five (5) black cats just lay around in the heat - then go bonkers when it's cool - running up-and-down the hallway and up-and-down the stairs. We can pretty much tell what the weather is going to be for the day before we even come out of the bedroom, just by the noise or lack of noise. (You do all realize that little cats sound like elephants when they run around in the house. I don't know how they do that.)
What do you think of the new order blanks that I've been sending out with the 'mailed' newsletters? I think they will be easier to fill out and easier for me to read when I get them in the mail.
Starting in July Lori Bartlett and I will be doing fairs, etc.
July 21st & 22nd Lori will be doing the Learning Fair in Jackson Michigan at the Jackson Career Center.
July 24th thru July 30th Lori will be at the Lenawee County Fair in Adrian Michigan in the Merchant's Building. She will be in booth #11.
July 31st thru August 6th Lori and I will be doing the Monroe County Fair in Monroe Michigan. We will be in Booth #79 towards the front (the road side) of the building. I will open and work Sunday and Monday - then Lori will work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday - then I will close by working Friday and Saturday.
August 15th thru August 21st Lori will be at the UP State Fair in Escanaba Michigan in the Butler Building in booth # 83.
Here is a tip to get more sales. It works!
If you sell paints to your customers, it will pay you to make sure they get a T4673 - Dots transfer. Make sure that they only fill in the paints that they have. What happens is that they want to fill in all the 'dots', so they keep buying paints, as they can, to make sure that happens
Monthly Quilt Club
This year we will have six (6) different sets of quilt blocks. These come out one quilt block per month and you can order the present month and any that were put out previously. At the end of the year you will have 12 blocks for each quilt. (January blocks will be #01.)
I will put out a painted picture of each new quilt block in the newsletter. Then, I'm going to try something new; I will put the cover page (the one that shows when the transfer is in the plastic bag) in color, also, that way you have not only the chart to know what color goes where - but, also, a colored picture to go by. This should make it easier for you to paint them whether you are in a class situation or sitting in your home by yourself doing them every month.

Final Words
I’ve been trying to hold down the price on shipping – but now I’m starting to lose money on it and prices are going up at the Post Office starting May 14th. (Prices at other shipping places have already gone up.) The increases they are talking about, on top of what I was already losing, means that starting May 1st, 2007 my shipping prices are going to go up.
- Up to $100.00 retail the price will be $7.25
- $100.01 to $200.00 will be $9.75
- $200.01 to $300.00 will be $11.75
- $300.01 to $400.00 will be $13.75
- $400.01 or more – add $3.00 for each $100.00
Remember that shipping is figured on your retail total before your discount.
If you think I should give you a lower shipping amount on your order because it is a small order, you can call and we might be able to adjust it some. No promises though. I’m not in the business of making money on shipping, but sometimes the small orders are what off-set the big orders.
