Ginger and John Welcome You to Ginger's Cameo, Manufacturing Home Office of Cameo Paints

June 2007

HELLO ALL YOU WONDERFUL PEOPLE!

Ember Fishing TripWow!! I had a great time this past month. My oldest daughter, Dana set up a charter fishing trip for the 'girls'. My middle daughter, Tammy wasn't able to go, but the rest of us - oldest daughter, Dana - youngest daughter, Mysti - granddaughter, Ember, were all on the boat on Lake Erie.

Ember caught the first & biggest Walleye Mom, Mysti, helped hold the pole.

Ember Fishing TripEveryone caught fish, even Captain Jim and First Mate Johnny. We were fishing for Walleye and Perch, and we caught those and Sheepshead (big) (threw back) and other little ones. Ember caught the biggest and smallest fish of the day. We came home with 17 fish - all filleted and ready to grill. Ember wants to do it again for her birthday.

Seperator Bar

Okay, enough about that - on to Cameo things.

Instructors Kit

I want to talk about the IK (Instructor Kit). This is a kit that has one of each of the paints that are in the Line (except #200). Right now this kit costs $263.72. The price is adjusted every time that I add paints to the Line. This means that you can have a stock of paints on your shelf or in your drawer to sell when one of your customers needs paint. You can order this any time and as often as you want. As you get your paints built up you will find that you have more of some paints than others. At this point you can run a one-time special on just those paints or teach a class that includes those paints. For those of you that have your tax license in to me, you get your instructor/dealer discount off of this discounted cost. It's a good deal for you and your customers.

I will try to get the November/December newsletter out the week following the Fall Seminar so the rest of you will not be far behind in getting a chance to order the new items. And, of course, the rest of the monthly quilt blocks will be in that newsletter in case some of you are working on them as a holiday gift. That way you have a chance to get them painted and quilted.

I want to remind you that the Company closes down for a week so we can go to a family reunion on Labor Day weekend. We take that time to go visiting and just generally get away. I'll give you dates later, as soon as we have our visitation schedule figured out. As of right now it looks like we will close on Friday, August 31st and open back up on September 3rd. I know that's an extra day, but we have a lot of visiting to do.

I will start packing and sending orders as soon as we get back (which will probably be Saturday or Sunday) and get everything caught up within 48 hours of opening up on Monday the 3rd.

Get the October Seminar 2007 on your Calenders NOW!

October 13, 2007

Where: At the Ginger's Cameo facility in Manchester, MI

I'm putting the registration form for the October Seminar in this newsletter. The sooner you get it in - the better I am able to plan. If you get your paid registration in before October 1st, you get a $5.00 discount - so it will only cost you $30.00. If you register on line - you will get a $5.00 credit at the meeting to use for all the things that you are going to want to buy.

This will give us three major up-coming holidays to work with at the Workshop.

All the new things coming out for the October Seminar will be in the November/December newsletter. Those of you who attend the Seminar will be the first to see and get the new things.

I have one of the new things in House already. Another new thing is on order and should be here within the next couple of weeks.

We will try to have a new type of linen to paint on.

I, also, have some other things in the works for the Fall Seminar in October.

In looking at the many things that will be happening at the Seminar and things that will be kicked off at the Seminar, I think that you should all make every attempt to be here. Oh, yes, we will be meeting in the new Facility for the first time, also!!!!

It's going to be great! I hope to see you there. You should be able to register ($35.00) on the Web site. We will be doing a lot of new things and this will cover a lot of the supplies that you will need - but not all. You will probably have to buy a few added things, too.

Monthly Special

Monthly special for July 2007:

T4350-Birdhouse

This will be the Special for the month of July 2007.

I think that we will use the T4350 transfer on a Mini Flag. This will be a nice gift or item for your craft shows. You can change the colors on different Mini Flags so they look good hanging up for sale, or in the favorite colors of the person you are going to give it to.

This set would retail for $6.60.

The monthly special for July 2007 will sell for $5.50.

You will get (1) T4350 and (1) P322-Mini Flag.

Now for only $5.50

The chart has changed a little on this design.

Monthly Quilt Clubs

On the transfers for the monthly quilt blocks there is a big picture and a little picture. Obviously the big picture is for the actual quilt block. The smaller pictures can be used for matching little t-shirts or sweat shirts. They can be used for making matching pillows, curtains, dust ruffles, sheets, body pillow covers or maybe even matching towels and wash cloths for a connecting bath room.

Remind your customers that they don't have to make quilts with these transfers. They can use them on shirts and other things. They would make a cute outfit (according to which ones you used) for a little onesy for a baby or a matching sweat suit for a child or adult. How about making a western shirt for someone in your life using the Southwest quilt block transfers? How about putting a south west transfer on your horse blanket?

If any of you travel - these transfers are a good size to go on your luggage. For some luggage, you might have to put the transfer on the quilt block - then put Fabric Glue on the back - let it dry - then cut it out to put on your suitcase. (You might need to cut in multiple pieces to get the look that you want.) After you get it cut out - use the Fabric Glue to put it on the luggage. If you want it to last a long time - after that Fabric Glue is totally dry - put another coat of the Fabric Glue over the top of the whole design. This will, hopefully, keep it safer and make it last longer. When you do something like this it will make it much easier to spot your luggage on the luggage carousel at the airport. It might, also, get you some new customers. There's nothing like advertising to get people to notice what you sell.

T4741 - Seascape

T4741 - Seascape has been in before. Everyone seems to want more lighthouses.

Transfer #T4743 - Poinsettia Center

T4743 - Poinsettia Center

T4743 - Poinsettia Center is designed to be the center of a poinsettia tablecloth or it will look great on a dresser scarf (P326 & P327). Of course, all of our transfers look good on t-shirts and sweatshirts. This one is for you crafters that are getting things ready for the holiday craft shows.

Transfer #T4744 - Gifted Snowman

T4744 - Gifted Snowman

T4744 - Gifted Snowman is another early holiday design. It's great for a Mini Flag, snowman tablecloth or shirt. Kids will love wearing it.

Remember this hint: if you need to put on multiple coats of paint, you can always iron your design dry in between coats so you can finish up a design in one class.

Also, when you use your Dual Point Pens, the paint that you use them on must be dry or you will clog up your nib and it won’t work anymore. If you are doing faces, for instance, paint the entire face and put any shading on that you need to do – then iron the piece dry – then go back and detail with your C388 – Brown Dual Point Pen.

Monthly Class

There will be Three (3) classes in the month of July:

July 19th - There will be some changes just for this month. Because of the Manchester Chicken Broil we will be starting at 12 Noon. At 4PM I will go pick up the chicken dinners for those of you that want to have them. If you call me ahead of time the tickets are $7.00. After we eat, everyone can finish their paintings or take their dinners and go home. The dinners are huge, they include: half a char-broiled chicken, Homemade Cole Slaw, Radishes, Chips, Roll & Butter and a drink. This is the 54th year of the Manchester Chicken Broil and people come from all over to eat.

For those of you who can't come during the day - you can order the dinner and I will pick it up and have it waiting for you when you get here. Or, you can just come at 7 PM for the regular class time.

This will be different only for this month. If it goes well - and those that come want to do it again next July - we will.

Now for what we will be doing at the class - we will be doing a special picture to practice your feather-stroking on animal fur. I think every one will like the class and the only way to get better at feather stroking is to practice and that is what we will be doing at the class. It will be a fairly long class, but not hard. Bring your paints and your cheery selves to have a good time and to learn.

The class price is $10.00, plus, of course, the $7.00 for your dinner.

Have you wanted a patriotic table cloth for all the patriotic holidays?

Well, here is Lori's tablecloth. She used four (4) different main transfers and then pulled the whole thing together with the stars that Halleen taught. Lori says she can use it pretty much all summer.

Final Words

I’ve been trying to hold down the price on shipping – but now I’m starting to lose money on it and prices are going up at the Post Office starting May 14th. (Prices at other shipping places have already gone up.) The increases they are talking about, on top of what I was already losing, means that starting May 1st, 2007 my shipping prices are going to go up.

Remember that shipping is figured on your retail total before your discount.

If you think I should give you a lower shipping amount on your order because it is a small order, you can call and we might be able to adjust it some. No promises though. I’m not in the business of making money on shipping, but sometimes the small orders are what off-set the big orders.

Well, I guess that's all for this month. Keep that those suggestions coming. I need every one of them. See you at a meeting.
