Ginger and John Welcome You to Ginger's Cameo, Manufacturing Home Office of Cameo Paints

June 2008

Well, another month has zipped past. It doesn’t seem like we could possibly be at the middle of the year.

During the month of May we got a lot of ‘March Winds’. Now it looks like we might get some of those ‘April Showers”.

At the beginning of this month (May) our home was totally surrounded by flowering trees, bushes and spring flowers. Now the Black Locust trees are in full bloom. It smells and looks really good here. When we look to the south it looks like hundreds of trees are snow covered.

I know a lot of you have had weather that wasn’t any thing to joke about. I hope each and every one of you is okay and that all your friends and family are okay, too.

Now – about this mistake I made. When you look at the transfer for the Girl Quilt Block 02, you will see the HS in the middle of her cheerleading outfit. First of all, I thought I had taken that out when I sent it to the printer, so you could put your own school letters there. Second of all, the printer copied from the wrong side so that the letters didn’t come out backwards when you look at the transfer (so when you iron it on it will be forward). So what some folks have done is to iron it on dark enough that they then paint the quilt block on the back so the letters are forward. Others have just cut out the letters before they iron the transfer on.

I will put a note in with the transfer to cut out the letters on her cheerleading top before ironing on the transfer – so you can put the school letters of your choice there. I hate to throw all those transfers out when it is such an easy fix. Do you all suppose that this will fix that problem?

Monthly Special

Rose Fence T4766

June Special

Rose Fence (T4766) and a Dresser Scarf – (P326)

This would make a great class.

Trying to figure out a Special for this month was really hard. All of the new transfers are just perfect to make a special out of. I think you will like what I came up with.

The roses can be done in your favorite color or you can follow the chart. I really like them the way they are charted.

The special sale price is $7.75.

Monthly Workshop

There will be One (1) class in the month of June:

June 19 th– 11 AM – Let me know if you are coming!

Monthly Quilt Clubs

On the transfers for the monthly quilt blocks there is a big picture and a little picture. Obviously the big picture is for the actual quilt block. The smaller pictures can be used for matching little t-shirts or sweat shirts. They can be used for making matching pillows, curtains, dust ruffles, sheets, body pillow covers or maybe even matching towels and wash cloths for a connecting bath room.

Remind your customers that they don't have to make quilts with these transfers. They can use them on shirts and other things. They would make a cute outfit (according to which ones you used) for a little onesy for a baby or a matching sweat suit for a child or adult. How about making a western shirt for someone in your life using the Southwest quilt block transfers? How about putting a south west transfer on your horse blanket?

If any of you travel - these transfers are a good size to go on your luggage. For some luggage, you might have to put the transfer on the quilt block - then put Fabric Glue on the back - let it dry - then cut it out to put on your suitcase. (You might need to cut in multiple pieces to get the look that you want.) After you get it cut out - use the Fabric Glue to put it on the luggage. If you want it to last a long time - after that Fabric Glue is totally dry - put another coat of the Fabric Glue over the top of the whole design. This will, hopefully, keep it safer and make it last longer. When you do something like this it will make it much easier to spot your luggage on the luggage carousel at the airport. It might, also, get you some new customers. There's nothing like advertising to get people to notice what you sell.

Recently I got a question on carrying Fairies. The gal wanted to know if I had any in the Line or had any old ones. Right after that Halleen brought me the quilt designs for the Fairies and Flowers. I thought that was definitely telling me I should put them in the Line right away. Fairies are very ‘in’ right now. I hope you like these.

It’s a six (6) piece quilt

So you can make it into a nice little throw, or put extra squares and strips in between and make it into a bigger quilt. Since it’s a six (6) piece quilt set – that makes it $15.00. Order under FAF -$15.00.

I love them! I think they are just cuter than can be. I hope you like them too and order lots of them. (Another craft show item.)

You can, also, put them on shirts.

I’m hearing from a lot of you out there that are asking for more quilts. I hope you like this one and the (hopefully) two (2) Holiday Quilts (9-piece) that will be coming out next month.

Next month will be the ‘Christmas in July’ designs. I know you want to get started on those holiday designs, so I try to put them out starting in July to give you lots of time to work on them.

Transfer News

This month we have 4 New Transfers

Transfer #T4766 - Rose Fence

T4766 - Rose Fence

I love the Rose Fence design. It’s a pre-shaded transfer and is really very easy to do. It will go around the bottom of a shirt or skirt or on both ends of a dresser scarf (PP326). You could, also, place it around any of the tablecloths that we have in the Line (P1220/P1221/P1222/P1223) and it would look great.

Transfer #T4767 – Adoption

T4767 – Adoption

There are so many kids out there that are being adopted today that they need something special just for them. The Adoption transfer can be put on a Mini Flag and the name and birth date can be filled in. I know they’re special and this is just a little thing that can be done to show them that they are.

The skin tone and the hair can be easily changed on the Mom and/or the baby to make it more personal.

Transfer #T4768 – Flowers & Butterflies

T4768 – Flowers & Butterflies

The Flowers & Butterflies can be used on just about anything – but it’s another one that can be used on either end of the dresser scarf (P326), around a tablecloth (P1220/P1221/P1222/P1223) or on a skirt or shirt. It’s easy to do and you can change the colors to match the room or the person.

Transfer #T4769 – Pansy Bouquet

T4769 – Pansy Bouquet

The Pansy Bouquet has a circle around the bouquet that makes it perfect for a throw pillow cover (P1482/P1483). You can cut the outside ring off before you iron it on and it will go even more places.

Remember this hint: if you need to put on multiple coats of paint, you can always iron your design dry in between coats so you can finish up a design in one class.

Also, when you use your Dual Point Pens, the paint that you use them on must be dry or you will clog up your nib and it won’t work anymore. If you are doing faces, for instance, paint the entire face and put any shading on that you need to do – then iron the piece dry – then go back and detail with your C388 – Brown Dual Point Pen.

Classes Being Held by Our Friends in Other Locations

All the instructor/dealers that I put in this section have a lot to teach and would like to teach all they know to you. So contact them and get started now.

We have a new craft store carrying our products. See us at ‘Crafty Folks’ right on the Alaskan Highway in Taylor, British Columbia. They will be running workshops at the store so you can learn right there how to use the products and they will have the products for you to buy. The address is 10501 99th St., Taylor, BC. Call and register for your class today (250-789-3720) or just go in and look around. Lisa will be glad to see you.

I know I have others in British Columbia that order from me – this store might be just what you’re looking for to pick up your products near you instead of waiting for them to come by Post.

We have a lot of dealer/instructors that have their own web sites now and more coming on-line all the time. When you’re on the Web just put Ginger’s Cameo in your search line and see how many you come up with. After you find them all – just check out the one nearest you and order. (You have to have your tax license # to get your discount from us to re-sell to others.)

We’re also on EBay and Amazon.

We’re getting better known all the time thanks to all of you out there. Keep up the good work!!!!

Final Words

I’ve been trying to hold down the price on shipping – but now I’m starting to lose money on it and prices are going up at the Post Office starting May 14th. (Prices at other shipping places have already gone up.) The increases they are talking about, on top of what I was already losing, means that starting May 1st, 2007 my shipping prices are going to go up.

Remember that shipping is figured on your retail total before your discount.

If you think I should give you a lower shipping amount on your order because it is a small order, you can call and we might be able to adjust it some. No promises though. I’m not in the business of making money on shipping, but sometimes the small orders are what off-set the big orders.

Well, I guess that's all for this month. Keep that those suggestions coming. I need every one of them. See you at a meeting.
